The most renowned figure to be active in Kaplice was the educational reformer Ferdinand Kindermann. From 1771 to 1775 the Kaplice vicar and later dean lifted the then-neglected school to model status. Kindermann led courses of music, singing, handiwork, and progressive agricultural methods.
